About Archibald's Next Big Thing

"The thoughts of an actor aren't very different from Archibald's. I always find myself looking ahead to the next big role, the next big opportunity, obsessed with the question 'What's next, what's next, WHAT'S NEXT!?' But embracing and enjoying the PRESENT is a message I want both my daughter and myself to remember. Every. Single. Day." – Tony Hale

Archibald’s Next Big Thing is the extraordinary adventure of an extra-ordinary chicken named Archibald Strutter. His three brothers and one sister have each found their "Big Thing" (including a brother chicken who impressively grows human hair) and the only Big Thing Archibald has planned is what he’s eating for lunch. This all changes when he receives a mysterious blue card that reads "YOUR BIG THING IS HERE!" So, accompanied by a friendly bee named BEE, Archibald takes the card and heads off on a fantastic journey in hopes of finding his NEXT BIG THING. It’s a story that reminds us that, while looking for the next big thing isn't a bad thing, we should always remember that big and beautiful things are all around us...right NOW.

The Authors

Tony Hale

Tony Hale

From Buster Bluth on Arrested Development to his Emmy Award-winning role as Gary Walsh on HBO’s Veep, Tony’s journey as an actor has taught him many lessons—the most important being it’s not always about the Next Big Thing, it’s about right now. He brings this lesson to life through the eyes of Archibald in his first children’s book. Tony lives in Los Angeles with his favorite people: his wife, Martel, and daughter, Loy.

Tony Biaggne

Tony Biaggne

Best known as the 1991 Idaho State Pantomime Champion, Tony has been writing stories since he could hold a crayon. He used that talent for years in the ad world as a copywriter and creative mastermind, most recently raising awareness and support for clean water in developing countries. When he’s not writing with Mr. Hale, he keeps his creative juices flowing at a St. Louis commercial production studio and blinks in memories with his wife, Kathee, and kiddos, Sage and Finly.

The Illustrious Illustrators

Misty Manley

Misty Manley

The look and feel of Archibald’s story is the result of Misty Manley’s colossal graphic design skills and gigantic amounts of creativity. When she’s not dreaming of pugs, putting hot sauce on a wide variety of edibles or singing loudly, she spends her time creating mind-blowing design as an art director in the advertising (and now publishing) world.

Victor Huckabee

Victor Huckabee

Victor honed his design skills in a magical place called Switzerland before returning to the states to make magic of his own. He is an established artist with quite a dandy portfolio filled with gorgeous creative work. From illustration to graphic design, Victor’s talent and vision combined to create the character design for Archibald and his siblings.
